So Dad, you know this week I’ve been having fun with my new friend Rachael? Well today topped it…..I, acting on my purest of pure canine instincts caught a Squirrel…..?…..I’ve had Rachael send you a picture of a squirrel so you know I big, mean and tough looking they are and I, Stan the Man, caught one…..I knew exactly what to do, I let Rachael finish it off as I saw her out of the corner of my eye looking on expectantly and probably in awe of me, however, I will say she had a strange technique of finishing the job, which involved picking it up, cradling it and gently stroking it, quite what she was expecting to happen is a mystery to me. She didn’t even take a bite, just gently placed it under a log for reasons best known to herself.
I told Rachael that this wasn’t my first hunt and that I had killed more squirrels than I care to remember, I don’t think she believed me though!
The rest of the walk was great at Hartshill, Rachael got a bit lost on the way back, probably because she was so intimidated by my hunting skills she wasn’t thinking straight, but I showed her the way home.
